Peter Zaboji: Serial entrepreneur and business angel
Peter worked for Siemens for over 20 years in a variety of roles
in the US and Germany which included director of strategic planning
for their telecoms business. In the early 90's he was managing
director of GPT Communications in the UK, and later became managing
director of o.tel.o, a German telecommunications operator. In
1999 he founded the European Telco Exchange, and in 2000 he was
brought in by KKR as CEO of Bosch's communication business, later
renamed Tenovis. Late 2002 he turned business angel again and
is chairman of a number of young companies.
Dietrich Botsch: ex-President Siemens AG
Dietrich studied
Electrical Engineering at the Technische Universität in Stuttgart,
Germany. He worked as an Assistant Professor at the University
and got his doctorate degree in Telephone Traffic Theory during
this time. He then joined Siemens in 1967 and - with an intermediate
2 years period as a lecturer in Electrical Engineering - he went
through several management positions, being responsible for the
development of the first and most successful digital telephone
switching system of Siemens. From 1985 until 1989 he served as
a Joint Managing Director for Siemens Ltd. in South Africa. After
his return to Germany he brought together a consortium to apply
for the second digital mobile operator license in Germany. He
subsequently received responsibility for all telephone apparatus
in Siemens, including Mobile Phones, and later headed the Business
Division "Private Communication Systems", which included
Enterprise Networks (PABX's), Mobile Phones and Cordless Phones.
After retiring from Siemens in 1998 Dietrich is now busy in a
number of Supervisory and advisory boards of companies in the
telecom and IT industries.
Ron Adner: Associate Professor of Strategy at INSEAD
Ron teaches courses on strategy, innovation and technology
management at INSEAD. His research on these topics has published in Management
Science, the Strategic Management Journal, the Rand Journal of
Economics, the Academy of Management Review, the Sloan Management
Review, the California Management Review, the Financial Times
and in edited book chapters. Dr. Adner is a member of the executive
committee of the Technology and Innovation Management division
of the Academy of Management as well as a member of the research
committee of the Business Policy and Strategy division. He is
an associate editor of Management Science. Dr. Adner holds a Ph.D.
in Strategic Management from the Wharton School of Business as
well as Master and Bachelor degrees in Mechanical Engineering
from the Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art.
His research examines the emergence of competition and the onset
of commoditization in high technology industries.
