Automatically Process E-mail Notifications

Many e-mail services provide notification services, sending SMS messages to users when new e-mails arrive in the inbox. Active Mail allows you to automatically process these notification messages, connecting to your mail service and downloading these new emails as they arrive.

Rules can be configured to allow you to control when and how often new emails are downloaded. Rules include:

• Link the SMS sender number with an e-mail account, and Active Mail will automatically connect to that account when an SMS arrives from that sender, downloading any new mails available at the account.
• Set a limit on how often emails are downloaded, e.g. connect at a maximum once every hour.
• Only connect if a certain number of new e-mails have arrived. This feature is only supported if your notification service supports the Nokia Smart Messaging standard.
• Configure rules to always connect if certain text is present in the notification, allowing you to monitor for messages from specific senders or with specific keywords in the subject line.
