E-mail Processing Rules

Active Mail provides support for advanced email processing rules. This feature helps you manage your e-mail by using rules to automatically perform actions on messages. After you create a rule, Active Mail applies the rule when messages arrive in your Inbox. For example, you can automatically download full messages based on the subject line, or automatically delete emails based on the sender address.

Using these rules it is possible to either delete or download the full message based on the following criteria:

• Sender
  
• Subject Line
• Priority
• Size

For example, if you know you may be receiving junk mail from a specific sender you can set up a rule to delete these message automatically. Likewise, you may always want to download high priority messages with certain text in the subject line, and as long as the size does not exceed a certain limit. Active Mail's flexible rules engine supports all of these situations and many, many more.
