Cibenix extends technology lead with next generation platform release

Dublin and 3GSM Barcelona, 14th February 2006 - Cibenix, a leading provider of service discovery solutions for mobile operators, today announced the availability of Cibenix DSD 3.0, a next generation On-Device Portal (ODP) platform supporting Data Service Search and Discovery.

Cibenix DSD 3.0 enables the operator to make data services more visible to and more accessible by their subscribers, so increasing the usage of these services and driving ARPU and profitability for the operator. The solution provides the mobile operator with a custom environment on the device, and allows the operator to provide its subscriber base with a branded, customised interface to all of its services in an intuitive and highly usable manner.

The Cibenix solution has already delivered well in excess of 100% increase in data services usage with associated ARPU increase to mobile operators across Europe.

The release of Cibenix DSD 3.0 comes in the wake of the first significant analysis of the ODP market, published by ARCchart in December 2005. The analysis highlights the huge potential for the ODP market, which ARCchart forecasts will grow aggressively to reach $1.4 billion by 2009. However, such growth will require the adoption by the mobile operator of increasingly sophisticated and functionality-rich solutions. Cibenix DSD 3.0 is the first platform to provide the power and flexibility to support such deployments:

• The highly extensible client architecture supports operators in deploying advanced ODP solutions across a wide range of devices and multiple device operating systems – Symbian S60 and UIQ, Windows Mobile 2003 SE and 5.0, and Java MIDP2
• The solution provides unrivalled flexibility in the design of rich-media, service-centric User Interfaces (UIs) that meet very specific operator branding and functionality requirements – the Cibenix pluggable component approach allows operators to quickly build UIs from the ground up, unlike the more restrictive template-based approach of alternative solutions
• Lower cost of ownership is provided across the entire solution, with a single point of management and provisioning of the client population, sophisticated network and device management, and low-touch integration with the operator’s existing operating infrastructure
