The Cibenix ODP Client provides a service-centric UI (user interface) on the mobile device through which the operator's data services are presented to the subscriber. The subscriber discovers online services by navigating in an easy and friendly manner through the various services presented by the UI.

Multi-channel Services

The Cibenix ODP Client will commonly be deployed as a front-end to the online WAP, Web or i-Mode portal. The portal structure is mirrored (in part or in whole) in the application, and a single click brings the subscriber directly to the relevant location in the online portal.

The client can also front-end any network data service including SMS and MMS services, and can also initiate voice calls to, for example, premium rate IVR services.

In both cases the client provides the subscriber with one click access, removing the need to first launch the browser, message composer or voice dialler.

Service Discovery and Service Promotion

The Cibenix ODP Client supports both the discovery (pull) and promotion (push) of data services.

The service discovery model is implemented via the menu paradigm where the UI presents data services organised into a series of hierarchical menus (similar to the structure of a typical online WAP or i-Mode portal). Subscribers pro-actively navigate through the menus until they "discover" a service and click to access it online.

The service promotion model is implemented via the push of information about the services to the subscribers in real-time. The pushed service information - typically promotional images with associated text - is presented to the subscriber in the form of "teasers" or "banners".

Device Integration

The Cibenix ODP Client can also link to native on-phone applications such as Messaging and PIM functions. The client can be used to blur the distinction between online and offline services, in that subscribers think only in terms of what they want to do and the client brings them to the application independently of their online or offline status.
